
International Jazz Festival which will start from October, 21st and will continue until October, 27th again in Baku. Organizer of the Festival is the Ministry of culture and tourism of Azerbaijan. This year the festival will gather stars of a world jazz, and among them will be Richard Bona, Branford Marsalis and other jazzmen and jazz bands. Local Azerbaijani jazzmen will participate in festival also. We would like to suggest you a press release and the festival program.
Richard Bona is a musician from Cameroon, jazz bassist, composer, singer, who is also known as author of most original and interesting improvisators in jazz world.
Branford Marsalis is an American saxophonist, composer and bandleader. He is a leader of the Branford Marsalis Quartet, tenor and a soprano-saxophonist, and one of the bright representatives of post-mainstream and fusion.
The Israeli group «Hard Jazz Knights» represents the successful project at the festival which called “Jazzing the Beatles” - jazz representations on themes of known compositions of the “Beatles”. «Jazzinho» - is the Portuguese jazz - bosanova group, soloist of which is known jazz singer, Guida de Palma. «dZihan and Kamien» — a duet from Austria, who plays music in style of downtempo and acid jazz.
During the festival it will be possible to listen to our local jazzmen also. Salman Gambarov - Azerbaijan jazz master, with the well-known mugam performer from India - Vasumathi Badrinatan and the musician from the USA– Amir Elsaffar will present a new project at the festival. Pianist Emil Afrasiyab ogly will participate in festival opening, together with the State symphonic orchestra. Moreover, he will perform in one of the festival evenings jointly with Mirdzhavad Dzhafarov.
At the same time, Dzhamil Amirov with "Savab" group and the winner of pianist competition in Montreux – Isfar Sarabsky will perform at the festival.
