National Artist of Azerbaijan Huseyn Alirza oghlu Aliyev was born on the 22nd of April in 1911 in Jomardli countryside of Zangezur district. When he was 12 years old he created his first landscape. Since 1927 to 1932 Huseyn Aliyev studied at Baku Art College. In 1922-1931 his series of caricatures was published at the page of “Molla Nasreddin”magazine which he has collaborated with. He was the first Azerbaijani who graduated Leningrad (Saint-Petersburg) Academy of painting (1932-1935). For 50 years Huseyn Aliyev has worked as a painter then as the main painter at “Communist” newspaper (Xalq qazeti).

Being the participant of The Great Patriotic War, he was awarded with medals “For the defense of Caucasus”, “For a valiant labor at the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”, “30 years of Victory at The Great Patriotic War 1941-1945” and with the Order of Peoples Friendship.

The talented artist Huseyn Aliyev was awarded with the honor certificate of Supreme Soviet: 3 times –of Azerbaijan and 1 time - of Ukraine. Huseyn Aliyev has been a member of the Artists Union since 1940, an Honored Artist since 1977, he was awarded the honorary title of National Artist in 1982.

 We can see distinctly the ability of the artist to chant nature by realistic landscapes in the works of the painter. The mountains, trees, rivers – are favorite theme in Huseyn Aliyev’s creativity. The landscapes of the master differ by monumentality.

Psychological understanding of personality and philosophy of nature became fundamental facts on all works created by the master. The master could see something else than all, he perceived it in any other way, in his own way, contrary to usual view. He gives inner state of his heroes soul very delicately, he believed in joy and sorrow at their faces, that’s why his works live in hearts of many people who know and honor the talent of this great artist.

Huseyn Aliyev- is a man who is in love with beauty. At the same time he is a calm and frank person. We remember him just in such way. As if by his pictures he gives us a piece of advice about peace and harmony.
