The Azerbaijan Carpet Museum in the framework of the project Cultural Wealth of Azerbaijan invites you to the master classes on weaving Cheten, a kind of flat–woven carpet. The master classes will be held on February 11–12, 2017, at 12 a.m.
Cheten is made of bars of cane or tree of the same diameter. Patterned Cheten was woven and used as a mat, decoration on wall in alachig (tent), partition and curtain.
The classes will be held by the artist-carpet weaver of the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum and the member of the Union of Azerbaijan Artists – Taryer Bashirov. Taryer Bashirov has been an artist-carpet weaver and the author of many sketches of portrait and thematic carpets for already 33 years.
The aim of the master-classes is to revive outdated technologies, enlighten the young people and create an opportunity to transfer this technologies from generation to generation.
