Nigyar Seyidova was born 1994 in Baku, got education in the Republican gymnasium of arts, graduated Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts. "Urban Sketches" exhibition is devoted to monuments and buildings of the capital of Azerbaijan.
The Baku Museum Of Modern Art – Aida Mahmudova’s solo exhibition “ELYSIUM” will be on view from November 14 – December 13, 2015. Aida’s solo exhibition explores the theme of an imaginary botanical garden where you can lose yourself to find yourself. This is a place where you can let go of what is not real about you, so only the real can remain. You lose the tension and find your inspiration by just observing flowers in bloom. The artist employs painting to translate feelings and emotions into beautiful and exotic plants.

On December 26, the exhibition featuring the Baburnama miniatures was launched at the Heydar Aliyev Center. Penned by the founding father of the Mughal Empire Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur (1482-1530), Baburnama is considered the first work in the literary memoirs genre all over the Turkic and Islamic world. The author presents his personal recollections along with valuable pieces of information related to the history, culture, ethnography and wildlife of Central Asia, Afghanistan and India.
On December 18, a renowned British sculptor Richard Deacon presented his exhibition styled On the Other Side. Richard Deacon in turn expressed sincere appreciation to Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mrs.Mehriban Aliyeva and Ms.Leyla Aliyeva, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Vice-President, for supporting the event. Mr.Deacon also noted that the invitation to hold a display in Baku was received back in 2013 when he attended the Azerbaijani pavilion at the Venice Biennale.

YARAT Contemporary Art Center is pleased to invite you to meet a young Russian artist – Polina Kanis, on February 29, at 17:00, whose personal exhibition will be held at Artwin Gallery Kiçik QalArt on March 1. Author bares the fear of traumatic collision with another, concealed at the bottom of any society in her works. Polina Kanis’s dystopian, therefore, realistic works reflect landscape of emotionless desert, on the background of which the subjects shorn of emotions and estranged not only from themselves but also from others like them, take part in conditional and universal events, causes and purposes of which are unknown.
A children’s art exhibition under the name “Hellas” will take place on March 7-11 2016, in Centro Italiano Baku, Murtuza Mukhatarov 7. The gallery will be open to the public from 10:30 to 19:30. The event is organized by the Embassy of Greece in Azerbaijan in cooperation with the Greek Community ARGO and Centro Italiano Baku. The children’s artworks have been inspired by Ancient Greece, the cradle of European civilization.
